Managing important electronic files using a network file server or saving them randomly on staff members’ individual Apple Mac computers presented a storage and file search problem for non-profit organisation, the Humanitarian International Services Group (HISG).
Colorado-based HISG provides support services to US and overseas organisations for crisis response and humanitarian development initiatives.
And as part of its day-to-day operations, HISG staff create and work with a range of files and documents such as timesheets, expense reports, grant requests, HR documents, trip reports and general accounting documents. But their existing systems and processes didn’t provide an easy yet logical way of labelling files for storage on a server, or an effective and fast file search mechanism suitable to the Apple Mac environment.
Josh Cink, IT support at HISG, says: “As a business using Macs exclusively for its computing needs, we found that many other software solutions were incompatible. But when we began using DocMoto, we soon found that it was the answer to our file management problems.
Now, it has enabled us to more effectively identify and store volumes of scanned documents at month end - and for anyone in the organisation to search for and retrieve them from one dedicated location.”
Josh adds: “The team’s principal expertise is not hi-tech, but our people have become proficient using DocMoto after only 30 minutes of training.
DocMoto is a great solution for our company and the recent new version release has improved the software even further. Everyone at CHL Software is extremely helpful, a pleasure to work with and the product’s pricing for non-profit organisations made it an obvious choice for us.”
